Hurricane Season 2016

by admin on May 31, 2016

hurricane-seasonSo we are here once again in Hurricane Season 2016. From the current updates and statuses of tropical storms and hurricanes the activity has just begun. However the looks from the National hurricane center are showing that we are to receive 4-8 named hurricanes this year which typically happen from between June and December each year. We have also been told that we may possibly see a decrease year over year in hurricane activity for south florida which is great news. They expect that this could last up to 20 years. So there is definitely a major shift in weather patterns and in this case maybe for the best. So for the rest of the country there is not such great news as they expect the season to be the busiest since 2012. A total of 14 named storms, eight hurricanes and three major hurricanes are forecast during the coming season. The strong El Niño we saw this winter continues to dissipate,  and may transition to its counterpart La Niña as early as the fall. Of course, if this trade off from El Niño to La Niña conditions actually does happen, it could be during the middle of the 2016 hurricane season. So lets prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Good luck to all on hopefully a non active season.
